Stiller's success with the Germany U21s

Only four days after losing to Poland, the Germany U21s bounced back with an important victory: coach Antonio Di Salvo's side beat San Marino 4-0 in EURO qualifying on Tuesday evening. TSG player Angelo Stiller made the starting XI and came off in the 61st minute. "I think it was an improvement in comparison to Poland. However, we were too imprecise at times. We could've scored one or two more goals. But we're satisfied with the performance and can now look forwards," said midfielder Stiller after the match. Goalkeeper Luca Philipp did not feature, however.

Also on Tuesday, Kevin Akpoguma was in the Nigeria squad that faced Cape Verde in African World Cup qualifying. The TSG man's country drew 1-1 to ensure they finished top of Group C with 13 points. That takes the Nigerians through to the third and final qualification round for 2022 World Cup in Qatar, which takes place in March 2022. Akpoguma did not play himself.

Hoffenheim's Chris Richards played the full 90 minutes in central defence in the 1-1 draw between Jamaica and the USA. The Americans now sit in second place in the CONCACAF group after that game.
