Strong TSG miss out on win in Berlin

Although they fought back from a goal down, TSG Hoffenheim were unable to pick up all three points as they drew 1-1 (1-1) away to Union Berlin. TSG delivered a good performance but were just unable to find the winning goal. Max Kruse fired the hosts into the lead from the penalty spot in the ninth minute before TSG drew level 20 minutes later through a Nico Schlotterbeck own goal.

Personnel & tactics:

Ihlas Bebou partnered Kramarić upfront.

TSG made their first change in the 67th minute: Ryan Sessegnon replaced John on the left flank. Hoeness opted to swap out his strikers towards the end of the game: on came Munas Dabbur and Sargis Adamyan in place of Kramarić and Bebou (90).

Moment of the match:

The 82nd minute: Kadeřábek looked to have scored the winning goal, but the celebrations were cut short: Grillitsch switched the play to Rudy, who then passed the ball on to Baumgartner. The Austrian teed up Kadeřábek, who fired a shot into the far-corner of the net. However, after a closer look through VAR, referee Tobias Stieler ruled the goal out: Baumgartner was a few inches offside.
