Baumgartner: "We're on the right path"

Here's what the players and coaches had to say after the 3-0 win against 1. FC Cologne.

Oliver Baumann: "Things are going well when it comes to opposition penalties at present; I'm obviously happy about that. I wait for a long time before they take them and then jump quickly. There are lots of factors involved. Before the game, I watch a compilation that includes opposition penalty takers. We're on a good path as a team. The first half of the season was difficult with several absences. We now have the areas requiring work under better control and are defending better. We're working very hard. It's great this is now bearing fruit. But we know it wasn't a perfect game. I'd like us to be slightly calmer in possession. We want to pick up points in Munich too."

Andrej Kramarić: "With my penalties, it depends on the goalkeeper. They're prepared for me. It's not easy. Oli made a good save today. I also sometimes miss against him in training. I'll certainly speak with Ivica Olic on the phone. I need to thank my club and my team-mates for helping me break the record as the top-scoring Croat in the Bundesliga. I'm obviously happy about the record. I would've never thought that I could achieve this. Everything will have to be right against FC Bayern Munich if we are to take points there."

Christoph Baumgartner: "We're very satisfied with our second 3-0 victory of the week. We had a few difficult weeks and knew that we needed to become more stable. By keeping three consecutive clean sheets, we've achieved that. The goal that I scored was very similar to Andrej's in Berlin. I saw that Mijat's shot wasn't quite on target and managed to divert the ball into the goal with a flick. We're on a good path, but we now need to go to FC Bayern and perform. We need to do a perfect job and approach the game with self-belief in order to be successful."

Sebastian Hoeness: "We made it a pleasant evening for ourselves today because we worked well. I'm delighted that we've kept another clean sheet. The match went well today. We're happy about that. But we also know that there were spells in which we didn't play perfectly. We'll take the points. I'd obviously like to congratulate Andrej on his record. This shows his extraordinary quality. He can be proud of that."

Markus Gisdol (1. FC Cologne): "We conceded the goals far too easily. Then it doesn't matter how you play. It's going to be difficult. We need to defend set-pieces better. That's what kept us from being successful today. We were not alert enough and were punished. It got better in the second half. We now have a full week of training ahead of us and then we have an important match against Bielefeld."
