Skov's Denmark win in England
Robert Skov and the Danish national team sprang a surprise on Matchday 4 of the UEFA Nations League by winning 1-0 (1-0) away in England. The victory saw coach Kasper Hjumland's charges leapfrog the Three Lions – who had to play an hour with 10 men following Harry Maguire's 31st-minute red card – into second place in the group. Skov again started on the left of defence but was substituted off at half-time.
The 24-year-old was not the only TSG player to celebrate success: Christoph Baumgartner, Stefan Posch and Florian Grillitsch helped Austria to a 1-0 (0-0) victory in Romania. Baumgartner played the full 90 minutes, came close to scoring in the second half when he struck the woodwork and set up the winner for Alessandro Schöpf on the 75-minute mark. Posch (53) and Grillitsch (76) came on as substitutes.
Munas Dabbur and the Israeli national team recorded a win of their own and it was a thriller. Despite being 2-0 down at the break, Dabbur & Co. came back to triumph 3-2 in Slovakia. The TSG forward played the whole game.
Andrej Kramarić and Pavel Kadeřábek lost with their national teams, however. Kramarić's Croatia lost 2-1 to France in a repeat of the 2018 World Cup final. The 29-year-old came on in the closing stages after Kylian Mbappé had put the French 2-1 up on 79 minutes, but could not stop his side from slipping to defeat. Kadeřábek came off the bench in the 77th minute as Czechia lost 1-0 in Scotland. Mijat Gaćinović did not feature in Serbia's 2-2 draw in Turkey.
