#TSGFCB: Battle of the top scorers

The newly-crowned UEFA Super Cup winners are coming to the PreZero Arena: on Sunday (15.30 CET / live updates on tsg-hoffenheim.de), TSG Hoffenheim will play host to Bayern Munich. Over the past four years, TSG have achieved impressive feats against Bayern with almost surprising regularity, recording three victories against the champions. tsg-hoffenheim.de has all the facts and figures you need to know ahead of #TSGFCB below.

Did you know that …

… TSG have been the most successful Bundesliga team against Bayern Munich since 2016?

Over the past four years, Hoffenheim have collected ten points in the games against the German champions. No other Bundesliga team has taken more points off Bayern in this period.

…it is a battle of the top goalscorers?

Andrej Kramarić and our former player Serge Gnabry each bagged a hat-trick in the season opener and are tied at the top of the goalscorers list.

… Sebastian Hoeness can already set a record?

For the first time since April 2013, a new TSG coach won his first Bundesliga match with Hoffenheim; Sebastian Hoeness is the first person since Markus Gisdol to achieve that feat. Only one of TSG's previous Bundesliga coaches has managed to win their first two Bundesliga matches: Ralf Rangnick in TSG's debut season in 2008.

… Andrej Kramarić can set more records on Sunday?

The Croatian has scored the last seven Bundesliga goals for TSG Hoffenheim (four in Dortmund at the end of last season and three in Cologne). If the striker were to also score TSG's next goal, he would join Anthony Modeste (1. FC Cologne), Lothar Kobluhn (Rot-Weiß Oberhausen) and Jupp Kaczor (VfL Bochum), who each scored eight consecutive goals for their clubs. Fritz Walter (Waldhof Mannheim) holds the Bundesliga record with ten goals in a row. If you include the two goals in the DFB Cup in Chemnitz, Kramarić has in fact scored the last 11 TSG goals in competitive matches.

… Hoffenheim can prevent Bayern from setting a magical benchmark?

Head coach Hansi Flick recently celebrated ten Bundesliga away victories in succession. If FCB were to win at TSG on Sunday, Bayern would break their own record from the 2013/14 season and be the first team to celebrate 11 away victories in a row.

… Bayern Munich made history on the first matchday?

The 8-0 victory against FC Schalke 04 was the highest winning margin ever recorded by a Bundesliga team on the first day of the season.
