Ribeiro joins SC Internacional on loan
Bundesliga club TSG Hoffenheim have agreed to loan defender Lucas Ribeiro dos Santos to Porto Alegre-based SC Internacional, who play in the top flight in his homeland of Brazil. At the same time, an agreement was reached to prematurely extend the 21-year-old's contract by one year to 30 June 2024.
"Lucas joined us in the second half of the 2018/19 season and has since accumulated some important experience in our senior squad. He is a talented defensive player who made his Bundesliga debut last season and crowned it with a very important goal. Now it's important for him to get more minutes under his belt; it was his express wish to take this temporary step in his homeland," explained TSG director of football Alexander Rosen.
Ribeiro, who arrived in the Kraichgau region from Brazilian outfit EC Vitoria, was included in the TSG Bundesliga squad on 20 occasions last season, making two appearances and scoring one goal. He also played once for Hoffenheim in the DFB Cup.
