Baumgartner voted Player of the Month

Christoph Baumgartner won't forget the month of December in a hurry. The Austrian made a substitute appearance away to Union Berlin on Matchday 16 and netted in the first minute of stoppage time to seal a 2-0 win. It was the first Bundesliga goal for the 20-year-old, who featured in all four matches throughout December, claiming one assist. As a reward for his performances, the TSG fans voted the midfielder their Player of the Month for December.

Baumgartner, who joined the TSG Academy from St. Pölten at the age of 17, won 62 percent of the vote to beat off competition from fellow nominees Oliver Baumann (20 percent) and Robert Skov (18 percent). The Austrian succeeds Andrej Kramarić, who won the award for the month of November.
