#TSGS04: Meeting with a favourite foe

The international break is over and Bundesliga action is set to resume this weekend, with TSG Hoffenheim playing host to FC Schalke 04 on Matchday 8 (Sunday at 18:00 CET/Live Ticker at achtzehn99.de). The Sinsheim outfit boast a highly convincing home record against the Royal Blues to date. Below, achtzehn99.de has all the facts and figures you need to know ahead of #TSGS04.

Did you know that…

…Schalke are TSG's favourite opponent to face in Sinsheim?

Hoffenheim have a better home record against Schalke than any other club: they have taken five wins and a total of 20 points from their previous 11 home games against the Royal Blues, who have only won once in Sinsheim – a 4-0 victory in September 2012.

…S04 are the league's most in-form side?

Coach David Wagner's team only missed out on top spot in the table courtesy of 1. FC Cologne's late equaliser in the last round of fixtures. Nonetheless, the Gelsenkirchen club are still the most in-form team in the Bundesliga with 13 points from their past five matches.

…David Wagner used to work in Hoffenheim?

Between 2007 and 2009, the 47-year-old worked as a coach in the TSG academy set-up. Furthermore, his assistants Christoph Bühler (2007-2011) and Frank Fröhling (2007-2015) were employed in Hoffenheim too.

…Mark Uth will be facing TSG for the first time?

Mark Uth completed a move from Hoffenheim to Schalke in the summer of 2018, but he missed out on both meetings with his former club last term. Sunday, then, will be the first time the striker has faced Hoffenheim in his career.
