Grillitsch: "The objective is to win"

TSG Hoffenheim face VfB Stuttgart in a local derby on Saturday (15:30 CET / Live Ticker at achtzehn99.de). achtzehn99.de spoke to Florian Grillitsch about the upcoming match.

You face a highly anticipated derby away at VfB Stuttgart on Saturday. It's an important match, is the excitement slowly building?

"A derby is always of special importance. Then there's the fact VfB are fighting for their sporting lives and we want to climb the table. There's a lot at stake for both teams. Our objective is to win."

The Bundesliga season has now entered its decisive phase. Last term, TSG made a significant improvement in the home straight. How much confidence is there you can repeat that feat?

"We picked up an important victory against Nuremberg and we hope this momentum will help us get another three points. We know we need to gain more points, but we're not putting ourselves under pressure because we know we have the quality to beat any opponent. That gives us confidence."

Do you do an internal points calculation?

"We're simply taking it game by game. 55 points was enough for us to finish third and qualify for the Champions League last season, but that won't be the case this year. It therefore doesn't make sense to be calculating. We just need to be picking up points week-in, week-out and in the end we'll see where it gets us. We're all hoping to end the season on a high note and we're convinced we'll manage it."
