Pfannenstiel bids farewell
Lutz Pfannenstiel is set to leave TSG Hoffenheim with immediate effect. The 45-year-old head of international relations has reached an agreement with the executive management to terminate his contract with the Bundesliga club, which was due to run until 2021. Pfannenstiel is set to assume the position of sporting director at domestic rivals Fortuna Düsseldorf.
The Niederbayer native joined TSG Hoffenheim in 2011. Since then, his international contacts have repeatedly come in useful to the Kraichgau club's scouting department. "It's obviously a shame to no longer have a guy like Lutz Pfannenstiel with his global contacts in the team. However, we're delighted for him that he'll now get the opportunity to take up a leading role in Düsseldorf. We wish him every success with his new endeavour," said Alexander Rosen, the TSG Hoffenheim sporting director.
