Goals galore in first friendly
Only two minutes had elapsed of TSG's first pre-season friendly on Sunday when Franziska Harsch, who was returning to her hometown club of SGM TSV Heumaden/SV Sillenbuch in Stuttgart, opened the scoring for Hoffenheim. "We were satisfied with the first half," said head coach Jürgen Ehrmann, whose side took in a nine-goal lead − including a four-goal haul from centre-forward Nicole Billa − at the half-time interval. "After the break we made a lot of changes and we lost the flow of our play," said Ehrmann, who continued. "We no longer played with enough structure and tried to score goals from individual play too often." It wasn't until after the drinks break that TSG rediscovered their rhythm, scoring through Judith Steinert (two), Jana Beuschlein and Dóra Zeller to complete the 13-0 win. "The team showed a good reaction at the end," concluded Ehrmann.
Meanwhile, the U20s beat league rivals SV Hessen Wetzlar 5-1 (3-1) on Saturday. Dana Leskinen (20), Kathi Naschenweng (36), Laura Wienroither (58) and Vanessa Leimenstoll (75) were on the scoresheet for Siegfried Becker und Lena Forscht's charges, with the other goal an own goal from a Wetzlar player on the 21-minute mark.
