Three winter friendlies lined-up

TSG played their last competitive match of the year on the 21st of December against Werder Bremen. However, before competitive football is back, the dates of three friendlies during the winter break have been confirmed.

Julian Nagelsmann will gather his men for the first training session after the winter break on the 4th of January. Four days later, TSG’s first friendly is on the schedule, as they come up against Dutch first division side FC Groningen. The other two friendlies will be against Danish outfit Aalborg BK and SG Sonnenhof from the German 3. Liga.

TSG announced in October that they would be going to a winter training camp abroad, but they’ll also prepare for the second half of the 2016/17 season in Zuzuhausen. Director of football at TSG Alexander Rosen said the “very short winter break” was the reason for this, although it's “no reason not to use a winter training camp in the future.”

Head coach Julian Nagelsmann wants to use the break to work intensely and on new ideas. Nevertheless, there will also be public training sessions which TSG fans will be able to attend.
