TSG travel to 1. FC Köln in second round
TSG 1899 Hoffenheim will visit fellow Bundesliga side 1. FC Köln in the second round of the 2016/17 DFB Cup. The ties were drawn out after the conclusion of tonight’s game between Bayern München and Werder Bremen, with Oliver Bierhoff overseeing the event.
"It’s certainly not going to be an easy game. We’re facing a tough opponent on the road. It’s going to be a keenly contested match. We’re looking forward to it," explained head coach Julian Nagelsmann.
Sporting director Alexander Rosen added that “it’s going to be a tough game. It’s a shame that we’ve got an away match – we would have preferred to play in front of our own fans. Progression is certainly possible and that’s our aim."
The second round of this year’s competition will take place on 25th and 26th October 2016. Further details will be announced in due course.
