Highlights

4th minute:Great one-two between Modeste and Salihovic in the Wolfsburg penalty area, a drilled cross and there's Roberto Firmino to slot in and make it 1-0 – what a start! More of the same please…

15th minute:The equaliser out of nowhere. Bas Dost converts a cross from the left with his head and all of a sudden it's 1-1.

37th minute:Niklas Süle is a force in the air! Salihovic free kick, Süle header, goal. TSG are back in front at 2-1. That scoreline reflects the game more.

38th minute:Quick double! Modeste adds a third, lining up a shot from 20 yards that goes in off the inside of the post. Superb!

43rd minute:Brace! It's Modeste again! A great cross from Sebastian Rudy and the Frenchman climbs the highest to nod the ball into the back of the net. 4-1 to Hoffenheim… Yes, 4-1!

76th minute:Wolfsburg find some kind of response. Ivan Perisic grabs one back for the visitors with less than quarter of an hour remaining. 4-2 now.

80th minute:The three-goal cushion is restored. Volland is fouled in the box, Träsch is given his marching orders and Salihovic despatches the penalty. 5-2, incredible!

86th minute:Salihovic turns provider this time. A wonderful ball into the path of substitute Sven Schipplock, who keeps his cool and finds the far corner with his left foot. It's 6-2 to TSG, the club's biggest ever Bundesliga win. We've never scored six goals in a game before!

Quote of the day

The period between the second and fourth goal, the lads really put in an impressive performance. We were aggressive against the ball and allowed the opposition hardly any time. If you consider this performance has come against a top-five side, it's even more impressive. (Alexander Rosen)
