Boris Vukcevic believes Hoffenheim will stay up
The match against VfB Stuttgart was Boris Vukcevic's last Bundesliga appearance to date. Around 20 weeks after his car accident, the 22-year-old continues to be treated in a rehabilitation clinic. Vukcevic is there recovering from serious head injuries that led to him being in a coma for several weeks.
Hoffenheim's sporting director Andreas Müller was able to give an update on the Germany U21 international's progress – just ahead of the return fixture against VfB (Sunday, 17.30 CET, WIRSOL Rhein-Neckar-Arena).
Müller after his visit: “It was very moving to see Boris again and have a chat with him. He's still got a long road ahead of him, but he's confident and has strong belief. We're all very grateful for his recovery and will continue to give him all the support he needs.”
Vukcevic wanted to pass on the following message to his teammates and the fans: “I still get chills every matchday and I'm certain that the team will stay up. I want to ask the fans to cross their fingers for them and help where you can.”
