…on his transfer to Hoffenheim:

“The move made a lot of sense for me. At Wolfsburg I struggled with injuries and illness. I needed a fresh start to get my focus back, and I'm really pleased that I've managed to do that at Hoffenheim.”

…his expectations for the second half of the season:

“I have an opportunity here to prove to people how good a player I am. My form is improving, I'm getting fitter every day and I'm settling in really well with my new teammates.”

…his first goal for Hoffenheim:

“If I carry on playing the way I am, it's only a matter of time. I would love to have scored against Mainz and I did have a few chances. But I've learned in my career that you have to be patient when you're a striker. I'll just keep working hard and my first goal for Hoffenheim is definitely not far off. That's my mission, to rediscover my scoring touch!”

…his relationship with the players at Wolfsburg:

“I got on very well with all of the players there and am still in contact with a few of the guys. That goes for manager Felix Magath as well, with whom I always had a good relationship. But on Saturday, the only thing in my mind is a win for Hoffenheim. The players at Wolfsburg will understand that motivation.”

…what family means to him:

“Family is hugely important to me. At the moment my wife is travelling between Wolfsburg and Hoffenheim and my child has just started nursery. Of course I miss them, but we're always on the phone to one another and still see each other pretty much all the time.”
