Thomalla's season ends early
Promising striker Denis Thomalla has had his season cut short after tearing a ligament in his ankle. It brings an unfortunate end to a promising campaign for one of 1899 Hoffenheim's top youth prospects.
The 18-year old talent picked up the injury whilst on duty for the Hoffenheim U-23 team against Wehen-Wiesbaden II after falling awkwardly and tearing the anterior ligament in his right ankle. Thomalla, who often trains with the first team squad has made four cameo appearances in the Bundesliga to date, but is likely to be sidelined for between 4 and 6 weeks, bringing a premature end to his season.
