Musona currently represents Zimbabwe at international level and spent the last two seasons with one of South Africa's top clubs, the Kaiser Chiefs. The young striker was on top form as he made his breakthrough last year, scoring 15 goals, giving him a total of 20 goals in 49 league appearances. “It was a dream of mine to play in Europe one day. I'm really happy and looking forward to my time with Hoffenheim. I'll be doing everything I can to get used to Germany's way of life and the Bundesliga's style of play as soon as possible”, stated an eager Musona shortly before making the trip to Germany.
Hoffenheim manager, Ernst Tanner, had this to say about his latest signing: “We've kept a close eye on his progress for quite some time and weren't surprised to see him make his breakthrough with his club or his national team. When he joined out training camp we were even more convinced of the strength of his human and athletic qualities. The long-term contract we've signed him to, is also a sign that we're willing to be patient with his development.” New head coach Holger Stanislawski added: “Knowledge adds more strength to our attacking quality. He's only 21-years old, but has already proven his ability to score goals at both club and international levels. At Hoffenheim, we're hoping to further develop that potential.”
