Euro qualifiers: Germany up against Austria
"At least we have one team we know we can beat in the group," joked the Austrian, having previously seen Belgium, Turkey, Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan drawn in the Group A along with his home nation and Germany. 1899 team-mate Andreas Beck called it a "difficult and evenly-matched group". Qualifying for EURO 2012 in Poland and Ukraine (9 June until 1 July) begins on 3 September 2010 and finishes on 11 October 2011. The winners of the nine groups and the best runners-up will qualify for the finals, with the rest of the second-placed teams competing in a playoff round in November 2011.
