May 2009

May saw a turnaround in fortunes for 1899 Hoffenheim on the pitch. Despite a convincing defeat at the hands of eventual title winners VfL Wolfsburg (4-0) early on, it was happier times for Rangnick's troops as they managed to secure three victories from four outings. The points helped Hoffenheim finish the season in seventh place.
Having secured ten points from a possible 15 in their final five games of the season in May, Hoffenheim went on to celebrate an impressive first season in the Bundesliga.
