My best goals: Ihlas Bebou
My best goal is not one, but two. They date back to when I was at Hannover 96. We had just been promoted and managed to win 4-2 against Borussia Dortmund. Dortmund had started the season very well, but we had also got off to a strong start. The home game against a highly fancied Dortmund team also started well, we even took the lead but then conceded the equaliser. Just before half-time, after a counter-attack, Jonathas played the ball to me with a superb crossfield pass and all I had to do was slide it past Roman Bürki and into the far corner.
In the second half, we led 3-2 shortly before the end and everyone was running on fumes. We wanted to run the clock down when Martin Harnik hit a long ball from his own half to me on the left. I then used my last ounce of strength to drive towards goal. Once inside the penalty area, I briefly hesitated and then scored with a shot placed to the left. It was my first brace in the Bundesliga. It was very special, an incredible moment. At the end of the season, we managed to stay in the league as promoted team and celebrated accordingly.
