Joshua Quarshie transfers to English team Southampton FC
Centre-back Joshua Quarshie is leaving Bundesliga team TSG Hoffenheim to join English Championship team Southampton FC for the new season, who were recently relegated from the Premier League. Quarshie's contract in the Kreichgau was originally until 30 June 2027.
The 20-year-old centre-back was on loan from TSG to second Bundesliga teams Fortuna Düsseldorf from January 2024 and SpVgg Greuther Fürth from January 2025. For the Kraichgau he played in one Bundesliga game in November 2022, and played 45 games for the Hoffenheim Regionalliga team (2 goals, one assist). In the German second league, Quarshie played 16 games for Düsseldorf and made 15 appearances for Fürth.
The German Under-20s national player (11 games), who was recently nominated for the German Football Association (DFB) Under-21s youth team for the first time, has been part of every DFB youth team since he was in the Under-18s.
