Beier: "A great feeling"

Here’s what the players and coaches had to say after TSG Hoffenheim's 3-1 victory over VfL Wolfsburg,

Robert Skov: "Today was a great victory. Of course, I'm pleased that I was able to help the team with a goal and an assist. It speaks to us as a team that we have come back again and were able to win again after going behind to follow up the victory in Heidenheim. I struck the ball very well for my goal. Andrej did very well beforehand and laid on a great assist. I enjoy being out on the pitch. We are on a good path towards improving. We have to keep going, to get better and play good football for the whole 90 minutes. At the end of the day, it's all about the three points and the victory, which we got."

Maximilian Beier: "At first, it was a bit tough, Wolfsburg were playing well. But we knew we could turn the game around and showed that in the second half. I didn't actually connect well with the ball and didn't think it was going in. But it was a great assist from Robert. We got what we deserved in the second half. It's a great feeling. I wanted to repay the trust the coach has put in me. At the moment, things are going very well for me. I can't complain. I'm usually quite a quiet guy, but when the fans call you over, you can't say no."

Wout Weghorst: "A home win feels great. With six points from three games, it's also a good start overall. We came back well after going behind again. It was a deserved victory. We wanted to be a little more aggressive in the second half, press a little higher, which worked out well at times. But we still have some room for improvement. We can and must get better. In the second half, we had it under control and played the game out well. Of course, it was special to play against my ex-club and nice to see some familiar faces, but on the pitch, it's all about winning matches – then all that stuff counts for nothing."

Pellegrino Matarazzo: "We knew from the beginning that we needed a good defensive performance. Our starting line-up was very attacking, with two strikers on the wings. It took us some time to gain a foothold in the game. Nevertheless, I was pleased that several players got their teeth into the game. That speaks to the morale in the team. In the second half, in particular, we put in a very mature performance. Up to the last ten minutes, we did not allow them any real chances and in the end, we deserved to win."

Niko Kovac (head coach of VfL Wolfsburg): "We played really well in the first half and deservedly took the lead. After that, however, we failed to up the ante and conceded an equaliser before the break. We cannot concede goals like that. In the second half, we got very little going up front, which was not good. That was until injury time, and by then it was too little, too late. That's why we lost."
