Thanks, Benni!

Total commitment across more than 100 appearances, a long-serving captain who led the way: Benjamin Hübner was officially bade farewell on Tuesday evening, after the former TSG Hoffenheim defender had been forced to hang up his boots in December. The South Stand thanked "Hübi", as did the TSG management.

A quarter of an hour before kick-off in the match against VfB Stuttgart (2-2), things got emotional at the PreZero Arena: Benjamin Hübner returned to the pitch; not in a TSG shirt, but in a long coat that befit the weather. Stadium announcer Mike Diehl walked together with the long-serving TSG captain up to the South Stand, who held up his picture alongside the words "Thank you, Benni". When Hübner reached the stand, chants of his name rang out around the PreZero Arena. After an emotional film had been played, Hübner turned to the fans himself and thanked them for their unconditional support especially during his injuries and many comebacks. He was then presented with a special edition framed shirt by director of football Alexander Rosen and managing director Frank Briel.

The TSG fans summed it up fittingly: Thank you, Benni!
