Interview with Finn Ole Becker: "I feel very comfortable"

Finn Ole Becker moved to TSG Hoffenheim from FC St. Pauli this summer. The 22-year-old spoke to tsg-hoffenheim.de about his first weeks at the club and his objectives for the coming season.

You now have your first few weeks at TSG behind you. What are your first impressions?

"It's a lot of fun, even though many things are still new and the level is very high. I've been given a very good welcome by my team-mates and I'm happy to be here. Our training ground in Zuzenhausen has outstanding facilities."

How important is a training camp in terms of properly arriving in the team?

"A training camp is ideal for that. I'm getting to know the other guys even better, so it's very important for me."

This is the first time you're properly been away from Hamburg. How have you settled into the Kraichgau?

"I do sometimes miss home of course; that's quite normal. But at some point you have to take the step out of your home surroundings and now was exactly the right time to do that. I've found a nice apartment in the region and feel very comfortable."

How big is the difference in training compared with the 2. Bundesliga?

"The quality in the Bundesliga is significantly higher; the way the centre-backs build the play is extremely good, for example. You definitely notice the difference between the leagues."

What's your first impression of the coach?

"He really gets the squad going and creates a good atmosphere. I really enjoy the training and his philosophy is a really good fit for me."

What are your personal objectives for the upcoming season?

"I've just come from the 2. Bundesliga, so I want to learn as much as possible. That's why I'm giving everything and hoping to get my chance. That's what I work towards every day and when it comes I want to be ready to help the team."
