Raum sets up opener as Germany beat Italy

The final fixture of the international break with TSG involvement: while the Bundesliga is on hiatus, there were exciting games in the UEFA Nations League, AFCON qualification and EURO U21 qualification. And TSG players were represented in the international action too. tsg-hoffenheim.de has an overview of the international fixtures involving Hoffenheim players below.

It was a spectacle: following three consecutive draws in the UEFA Nations League, the German national team picked up their first win on Tuesday. The DFB team beat Italy 5-2 – and TSG player David Raum played a major role in the triumph. The left-back's cross set up Joshua Kimmich's opening goal (10) and paved the way for a famous victory, in which Germany led 5-0 at one point. It was Raum's second assist at international level. The 24-year-old featured in all four Nations League matches and played the full 90 minutes in the last three of those. Oliver Baumann was an unused substitute.

That means the international action is now over from a TSG perspective. The new Bundesliga season is fast approaching, with Hoffenheim set to begin training for the upcoming campaign on 26 June.
