Baumann recalled to Germany squad

Big honour for Oliver Baumann: the TSG Hoffenheim goalkeeper is back in national team coach Hansi Flick's squad for Germany's upcoming matches in the Nations League. His TSG team-mate David Raum has also been called up to the DFB squad.

"I'm delighted with the call-up," said Oliver Baumann. "It's an honour to be recognised for my performances over the past few years. It's my dream to play with the eagle on my chest one day." It is the third time the goalkeeper, who has played for TSG since 2014, has been called up to the Germany squad.

As the 31-year-old did not feature on his previous call-ups in 2020, Baumann could make his debut for Germany in the Nations League matches in Italy (4 June/20:45 CET), against England (7 June/20:45 CET in Munich), in Hungary (11 June/20:45 CET) or against Italy again (14 June/20:45 CET in Mönchengladbach).

The Breisach-born keeper has so far made 262 Bundesliga and 11 DFB-Pokal appearances for TSG. He has also played eight times in the Champions League and 12 times in the Europa League.

TSG defender David Raum has also been included in national coach Hansi Flick's squad. The left-back made his debut for Germany in 2021 and has so far made five appearances for the DFB team.
