TSG come from behind to win in Wolfsburg

A comeback, a wondergoal and an away win: TSG Hoffenheim picked up a memorable 2-1 (0-1) win away to VfL Wolfsburg. Second-half goals from Jacob Bruun Larsen and Andrej Kramarić turned the game on its head.

Personnel and tactics:

Head coach Sebastian Hoeness made two changes to the side that beat Arminia Bielefeld 2-0. Andrej Kramarić and Stefan Posch came into the starting line-up to replace Dennis Geiger and Florian Grillitsch, who were both sidelined due to suspension. Posch, Kevin Vogt and Benjamin Hübner formed the back three in front of goalkeeper Oliver Baumann. Diadie Samassékou anchored the base of midfield. Ihlas Bebou and David Raum started on the wings, Kramarić and Christoph Baumgartner roamed behind the striking duo of Munas Dabbur and Georginio.

TSG made their first change in the 43rd minute, as Vogt had to go off injured. He was replaced by Håvard Nordtveit. Pavel Kadeřábek came on in place of Dabbur for the second half, with Bebou moving up front. TSG made an attacking substitution with 20 minutes remaining: off came Samassékou und Posch to be replaced by Sebastian Rudy and Jacob Bruun Larsen (70). Five minutes before full-time, Kevin Akpoguma came on to help shore up the defence. He replaced Georginio. (86)

Moment of the match:

The equaliser: various TSG substitutes linked up to make it 1-1. Pavel Kadeřábek headed a Sebastian Rudy long-ball into the middle, where Jacob Bruun Larsen was on hand to finish with a spectacular scissor-kick into the far corner (74).

Number of the game: 9

Bruun Larsen's goal was the ninth scored by a substitute for Hoffenheim this season. TSG have more goals from substitutes than any other team in the league. 18 points after going behind is another league-leading statistic.
