Hübner: "I am mega happy"

Here’s what the players and coaches had to say after the 2-0 win against Arminia Bielefeld.

Benjamin Hübner: "I am mega happy. A day like today makes up for almost all the time before. I was injured for a long time, then celebrated my comeback, extended my contract during the week and scored a goal in my 100th competitive game. It’s going well! We are all very happy with the result today. In the past few weeks, we have played well, but not been able to win the games. That's why we're happy about the 2-0 win today. And if we play our counter-attacks better, we can certainly win more games."

Christoph Baumgartner: "We just need to score more goals. That's our only shortcoming today, because we will not get as many chances as we did today in every game. But in the end, the three points are the only thing that matters. We are still in the race for a European spots."

David Raum: "Over the last few weeks we haven't got the points our performances have deserved, but today it finally worked out. Of course, we could have taken one or two more of our chances, but it's also important to keep a clean sheet as well. We were by far the better team today, so it was a deserved home win. The two goals were enough for the three points today, but this fact wouldn’t have been any different with five goals."

Sebastian Hoeness: "Hats off to my team. That wasn’t a matter of course to perform like that here today. The victory was totally deserved. It wasn't easy for us at the start of the game today. We were the favourites going into the game because Bielefeld are in the lower reaches of the table, but at the same time they had the longest unbeaten run in the entire league. If you take that into account, we put in a really good performance. We were dominant and off the ball it was even a bit better than last time; we only gave away one genuine chance over the whole 90 minutes. Of course, we have to play better on the counter-attack. We have to take that next step and be a bit more mature. But that's complaining at a high level."

Frank Kramer (Arminia Bielefeld coach): "TSG deserved to win today. We weren't compact and didn’t show enough bite today. If the timing when challenging for the ball is not right, an opponent with such quality emerges as the winner. We weren't good enough in the final third of the pitch and didn't play well enough. We wanted to do better in the second half, but then we can't defend like we did for the second goal. We have to do that better. If we want to have a chance in Hoffenheim, we have to play at our top level. That wasn't the case today."
