Bornauw: ''We're out for revenge''

What do the opposition have to say before the game? Ahead of TSG Hoffenheim's trip to VfL Wolfsburg on Saturday (15:30 CET, liveticker at tsg-hoffenheim.de), we spoke to Wolfsburg centre-back Sebastiaan Bornauw. The 22-year-old shared his thoughts on VfL's upturn in form, their struggles this season and their 3-1 loss in the return fixture.

You've recently picked up back-to-back wins. How important were these victories for you?

''Both wins were very important for us. We weren't having an easy time of it before, so managing to get two consecutive wins was obviously a great feeling and has given us a confidence boost.''

Why do you think this season hasn't been as successful as last year?

''It's hard to say. We're always trying to play as best we can out on the pitch and recently we've been able to get good results again. Now the objective is to keep getting stronger and win as many games as possible.''

The return fixture ended in a 3-1 win for TSG. Back then, you were placed second in the table. Was the defeat a turning point for your season?

''I don't know. But I think Hoffenheim played well that day and deserved to win. This weekend we'll obviously be out for revenge and will try to do all we can to keep the points in Wolfsburg.''

How confident are you that you can recover your excellent form from earlier in the season?

"We showed a good mentality in Frankfurt and were able to come out on top in what was a very difficult and intense game. The level has been very high for us over the past few weeks in training and it was nice to see that we could bring this level over into a game again. That gives us additional self-confidence."

TSG were also able to get back to winning ways at the weekend, as they beat Bielefeld 2-0. Where do you see Hoffenheim's strengths?

"Hoffenheim are a team that play good football and are performing at a very high level at the moment. But I'm still confident that if we can replicate the performances we've had recently, then we can win this game."
