Who do you think is the best holding midfielder in the world?
"Thiago. I got to play with him and he taught me a lot. To be able to watch him and experience him day-in, day-out was indescribable. He is my role model – together with Toni Kroos."
Why did you choose the number 13?
"I looked at all the numbers that hadn't been taken and when I saw the 13 I thought of Michael Ballack. That felt right for me straight away."
What song do you want to sing when you get up front of the team?
"I'm still a little undecided, but I think it will be 'Uptown Funk' by Bruno Mars."
What does your perfect day look like?
"Definitely a lie in. Then chill out, eat something and watch Netflix or play on the computer for a little bit. In the evening, maybe go for a meal and finish the day nicely."
Do you prefer to drink still or sparkling water?
"I prefer still water – not just because of my name." (laughs)
