Baumann: "It's frustrating"

Here's what the players and coach had to say after the 1-1 draw at SC Freiburg.

Andrej Kramarić: "We're pretty unsatisfied with the result, because we were the better team. But at the same time we can also be content, because it was a good performance. I saw a lot of positive things on the pitch that we can be happy about. It was another step forwards. We need to build on that in our last matches."

Florian Grillitsch: "Getting a point in Freiburg is a good result. But we should've been rewarded with three points based on the balance of play. We defended very well and gave away little. But unfortunately we didn't go 2-0 up."

Oliver Baumann: "The result is disappointing; it's a case of two points dropped. One point is okay in general, but we had some really good opportunities towards the end where we should've got a goal. Hence why the result is frustrating, but it's good the performance was better. We should've won here."

Oliver Baumann on referee Manuel Gräfe, who in compliance with DFB regulations must step down as a referee at the end of the season after reaching the age limit of 47:

"I don't think there's a player in the Bundesliga who wouldn't like to see him on the pitch next season. He's extraordinarily good, extremely clear, communicates very well and makes a lot of very good decisions. In my eyes, he should keep going, regardless of how old he is."

Sebastian Hoeness: "After the English week, it was important to make a good start. It was an open game at the beginning. Then we improved and deserved to lead at the break as well. Unfortunately, we didn't manage to add the second goal. It was clear that Freiburg would then up the pressure. Unfortunately, we then conceded the equaliser from a penalty. We're satisfied with the performance but not with the result."

Christian Streich (SC Freiburg coach): "It was exactly the game I was expecting. We really had to fight. Hoffenheim had chances to make it 2-0; we were a bit lucky in that sense. But we subsequently worked our way into the match. A victory wouldn't have been just today because Hoffenheim were too strong."
