Adams: "We want to go far"

TSG Hoffenheim will start their bid to reach the last 16 when they take on Molde FK in the first leg of their Round of 16 tie on Thursday (21:00 CET/Live Ticker at tsg-hoffenheim.de). In an interview, TSG defender Kasim Adams spoke about what makes the knockout stages special, the opposition and his aims for the competition.

The Europa League knockout stages start on Thursday. What kind of game are you expecting against Molde?

"The knockout stages are a completely different competition to the group stages. There are only two games per round and anything's possible. Both teams will give everything in both games. We know that and are prepared for it. We're delighted to be involved and we obviously want to progress."

TSG are set to face a Norwegian team in a competitive game for the first time. What's your take on the opposition?

"Norwegian teams can play very good football and are very dangerous. We need to be prepared for that so that we are not taken by surprise. We want to be present from the beginning and take the opposition seriously. I'm confident that we can reach the next round."

Does the relocation to Spain play a role for you?

"It suits me in terms of the temperatures. At this time of year, it can be significantly colder in Norway than it is in Germany. In Spain, on the other hand, it will be warmer."

What are your objectives for the Europa League?

"We're taking it game by game. But we obviously want to go far. This is not supposed to be where it ends. It's up to us whether our dream of a last 16 or quarter-final tie comes true. We'll see what's possible."
