TSG celebrate sensational win over Bayern Munich

A magnificent performance from TSG Hoffenheim saw them bring Bayern Munich's run of success to an end and climb to the top of the league table thanks to a 4-1 (2-1) victory on Matchday 2 of the Bundesliga. Ermin Bičakčić and Munas Dabbur were on target for TSG in the first half, while a second-half brace from Andrej Kramarić was enough to wrap up a well-deserved win.

Personnel and tactics:

Head coach Sebastian Hoeness made one change to the side that defeated 1. FC Cologne 3-2 last weekend, with Stefan Posch replacing Kasim Adams at the heart of defence. The Austrian formed a five-man defensive line alongside Kevin Akpoguma, Kevin Vogt, Ermin Bičakčić and Pavel Kadeřábek. Oliver Baumann started in goal. Dennis Geiger and Diadie Samassékou played as the two central midfielders, with attacking players Andrej Kramarić, Christoph Baumgartner and Munas Dabbur rounding out the starting XI.

Bičakčić pulled up injured shortly before Bayern scored to make it 2-1. Robert Skov came on for the man who scored the opening goal, slotting in at left-back. Kadeřábek shifted over to right-back and Akpoguma moved into central defence.

TSG made two changes around the hour mark. Hoeness opted for a bold, offensive substitution, with Mijat Gaćinović and Ihlas Bebou coming on to replace Geiger und Baumgartner. Florian Grillitsch came on for Dabbur with ten minutes remaining to help see out the result. Kramarić scored the all-important third goal from a counter-attack in the 77th minute. Bebou was brought down in the box by Manuel Neuer in injury time. Kramarić stepped up to convert the penalty and score his fifth goal of the season, making him the leading scorer in the Bundesliga.

Moment of the Match:

The goal to make it 3-1. Bayern were pressing hard for an equaliser, but in the end it was TSG who got the decisive goal that their courageous and extremely positive performance deserved. Munas Dabbur played the ball into the path of Ihlas Bebou. The striker got his head up and played a perfect ball into Kramarić in the middle. The Croatian took one touch before sending a delicate finish into the left-hand corner. It proved the crucial moment in what was an intense game of football.
