"Game time is an important element of a young player's development. David has come on a great deal, especially towards the end of last season, and so we decided together to extend the loan," said TSG director of football Alexander Rosen of a "solution that was excellent for all parties involved". TSG have previously had very positive experiences of sending young players (such as Kevin Akpoguma and Joelinton) out on loan.
Striker Otto already spent last season on loan with 1. FC Heidenheim, where he made 29 competitive appearances (one goal, six assists) as the club reached the Bundesliga relegation/play-off – before ultimately losing to Werder Bremen. The U20 international has previously made four professional appearances for TSG, one of which came in the 1-1 draw against Ludogorets in the UEFA Europa League in December 2017.
