TSG and Schwarz Group extend partnership

Bundesliga club TSG Hoffenheim and the Schwarz Group (Lidl/Kaufland) are extending their strategic partnership. Both parties have agreed to renew their cooperation ahead of schedule and on a long-term basis until 2025. The environmental service provider PreZero, a Schwarz Group company, will remain the official naming sponsor of the Bundesliga stadium in Sinsheim, known as the PreZero Arena since January 2019, until at least 30 June 2025. As a Business Premium Partner, the Neckarsulm-based group of companies will also receive an expanded service portfolio. These include various promotional activities for PreZero and a special advertising package for the Lidl brand "Saskia", which will be the club's official mineral water partner.

''PreZero are the ideal partner for us, and they fit in perfectly with our sustainable strategy for the future 'TSG is movement','' says Dr. Peter Görlich, managing director at TSG Hoffenheim. ''It sends an incredibly strong message that, in times like these, the Schwarz Group are placing so much faith in our continued close cooperation. We are proud to have a partner by our side that, just like TSG in the Bundesliga, acts as an innovation driver in their field,'' adds Görlich. ''Even before the start of our partnership in January 2019, we were aware that our vision of a world without waste of resources was very much in line with TSG Hoffenheim's fundamental understanding of environmental management issues," says Dietmar Böhm, managing director of PreZero. "This has only been confirmed by the many successful projects and actions we've since implemented together. We are very pleased to now be able to establish this groundbreaking cooperation on an even more long-term basis so that we can work together on even more sustainability initiatives in the future".

Since the launch of the partnership in January 2019, TSG and PreZero have brought forward important new impetus for environmentally-friendly business practices. A reusable cup system was implemented in the PreZero Arena, resulting in the reduction of waste from the approximately 500,000 plastic cups previously used per season. The introduction of a grass paper project, which involves grass cut from the stadium's playing surface being used to produce various items such as mobile phone covers, is a further example of the two organisations working together to set a much-admired example in the field of recycling. Further projects are currently under development.

PreZero to remain stadium naming sponsor and official sustainability partner until 2025

PreZero is a leading environmental services provider, with over 90 sites and 3,500 employees across Germany, Europe and North America. The company offers waste disposal services as well as the sorting and processing of raw materials. Sustainability is in the organisation's DNA. PreZero sees itself as an innovation driver in the industry, and the company name describes its ultimate aspiration: zero waste of resources across the entire value-added chain. The idea is one of a smart cycle, in which all components are considered as part of a larger whole - starting with the creation of a fully recyclable product, through trade and disposal, all the way to sustainable recycling. As part of the Schwarz Group, PreZero is the first company on the market to combine all these elements into a closed cycle of recyclable materials.

PreZero is committed to REset Plastic, the Schwarz Group's official plastic strategy. This integrated approach, which aims to reduce the overall use of plastics and close the life cycle of resources, features prevention, design, recycling, disposal as well as innovation and education.
