TSG.RADIO – Tune in to the team

The Bundesliga season is set to resume on Saturday – though, unfortunately, it will do so behind closed doors. To prevent the spread of the coronavirus, all remaining matches at the PreZero Arena this season will be played without fans. Everyone involved in the games will sorely miss the support from the stands, but fans and friends of TSG need not go without live updates. In keeping with the motto "Tune in to the team", TSG Hoffenheim will be keeping you directly connected to the live action. The new TSG.Radio, presented by Bitburger, will be launched on Saturday for the match against Hertha BSC. There will also be a live and full-length audio-stream for every future TSG Bundesliga match.

The Communications Department began planning for this new TSG format immediately after the announcement was made that the season, which was interrupted on 13 March, would be finished exclusively behind closed doors. "Above all, we firmly believed that we needed to bring our fans as close as possible to the action and not leave them in the lurch. Playing matches behind closed doors is not a nice situation for any of us, but at the moment it is the only way forward due to the requirements. Since there will only be limited coverage of TSG's remaining matches on free-to-air television, our new free web radio service will provide everyone with an entertaining way to stay on top of the game," explained Holger Kliem, the head of media and public relations. "Our multimedia offering will of course be supplemented with information, photos and live tickers on our social media channels as well as the 'Matchday' pre-match report and the post-match reactions on TSG.TV."

In future, TSG.RADIO will always go live a quarter of an hour before kick-off  starting this Saturday at 15:15 CET. In addition to live coverage of the games, TSG.RADIO will provide further information about the current game during the broadcast.

"All our club channels provide a unique look behind the scenes and offer closer-up coverage than any other medium. We're pleased to be able to expand our offering with TSG.RADIO. The broadcast is also a service for our visually impaired fans, who are already familiar with our radio offering from the stadium and, as a result, will not have to go without TSG during the corona period," said Kliem.

TSG.RADIO will be accessible on Saturday via the pop-up player at achtzehn99.de  whether you are using a computer or a mobile device. Our team of commentators includes Rebekka Allgaier, Martin Hahn and Markus Schulze, who for years have been using their radio expertise to provide coverage for visually impaired TSG fans at every home game. The trio of journalists have plenty of Hoffe knowledge and football expertise. "On Saturday, Rebekka Allgaier and Markus Schulze will form our first broadcasting duo," said Kliem. "We're looking forward to the kick-off. Our aim is to provide fans and interested parties with comprehensive information and entertainment. And, of course, we'll also be watching as fans," added an excited Rebekka Allgaier ahead of the premiere. TSG will receive technical support from Mannheim-based LIVE DIRECTORS, a long-standing service provider of the club.
