Draw in Paderborn

TSG Hoffenheim missed out on the away win they had been targeting but picked up their first point since the season resumed as they drew 1-1 (1-1) with SC Paderborn. Robert Skov fired TSG into a fourth-minute lead, but Dennis Srbeny equalised to make it 1-1 five minutes later.

Personnel & tactics:

Head coach Alfred Schreuder made one change to the starting XI that lost 3-0 to Hertha BSC last time out, with Kevin Akpoguma losing his place at the heart of defence to Ermin Bičakčić. The Bosnia international played alongside Benjamin Hübner and Stefan Posch in a back three in front of goalkeeper Oliver Baumann. Pavel Kadeřábek and Steven Zuber started on the flanks.

Florian Grillitsch and Sebastian Rudy lined up in midfield alongside Christoph Baumgartner, who was in a slightly more advanced role. Robert Skov and Ihlas Bebou formed the attacking partnership.

TSG made their first change in the 63rd minute when Zuber made way for Munas Dabbur. Skov subsequently took up a position on the left flank. A like-for-like double substitution followed on the 76-minute mark, with Dennis Geiger and Maximilian Beier replacing Rudy and Bebou.

Moment of the match:

The equaliser: TSG took an early lead, but SC Paderborn's Dennis Srbeny levelled the scores at 1-1 in the ninth minute of the match after dispossessing last man Ermin Bičakčić.

Match highlights

4. Min.

A deserved early lead. Pavel Kaderabek does very well to beat two opponents down the right flank and plays a perfect ball into the centre. Skov is perfectly positioned and hammers the ball high into the net from a central position.

7. Min.

There's almost another goal for TSG minutes later when Bebou tees up Skov with a lovely flick, but the Dane cannot capitalise and loses control of the ball.

9. Min.

Last man Bicakcic loses possession and Srbeny is the quickest to react, curling the ball perfectly into the far corner from over 20 metres out.

20. Min.

The visitors play another long ball up top. Skov latches on to the ball and tries to lob Zingerle, but Collins clears it off the line and prevents Hoffenheim from re-establishing their lead.

28. Min.

Kaderabek is involved in yet another great opportunity. The Czech plays a brilliant ball from the right flank into the middle, where Baumgartner is completely unmarked. But the Austrian fires straight into the arms of Zingerle.

33. Min.

The loose ball falls to Skov following a corner and he squares to Posch on the edge of the area. The Austrian goes for goal from 16 metres but strikes the side-netting.

36. Min.

Paderborn go close completely against the run of play. Holtmann crosses into the centre, where Vasiliadis thunders a shot against the bar from seven metres. Lucky!

57. Min.

Kaderabek crosses towards the back post from the right. Zuber steers the ball back towards Grilltisch, who shoots straightaway. His effort is blocked and it hits the side-netting. Zingerle was powerless to stop that.

73. Min.

Brilliant stuff from Dabbur, who breaks through in a centre-left position and shoots left-footed. But Zingerle makes himself big and thwarts the danger.

87. Min.

Almost a last-gasp winning goal there. An unmarked Dabbur heads towards goal from eight metres out but it sails narrowly wide of the mark.
