Schreuder: "We want to create lots of chances"

Alfred Schreuder spoke at the press conference prior to the first home game of the season against Werder Bremen (Saturday at 15:30 CET/Live ticker at achtzehn99.de) about the training this week, the opposition and the personnel situation.

Alfred Schreuder on…

…training this week: "The lads are making a good impression. On Monday, I gave the players who hadn't played a match replacement session. The team had the day off on Tuesday. The lads trained very well yesterday. We've analysed the Frankfurt game and we're prepared for Saturday."

…the opposition: "Bremen are a very strong opponent. It's difficult to predict how they'll play. Last season, they always played against Hoffenheim with a back three. I'm expecting to come up against a very good team and I'm looking forward to the match. We want to create lots of chances."

…his first Bundesliga home game: "There's a lot of excitement. We play football for our fans and we're delighted to be playing in the PreZero Arena."

…the personnel situation: "Andrej Kramaric and Benjamin Hübner will unfortunately be absent once again. Steven Zuber is a doubt too."

…data analysis in football: "We can analyse the data from every training session. It's very interesting. We can see how much each player has run and we can then protect them in the next sessions. The SAP data helps us a lot."

The social media fan question of the week:

How do you prepare for a match? Do you have a specific ritual?

"A lot of people used to think that my ritual was to go onto the pitch in shorts. But that's not true. Now and again, I'll go for a quick run or bike ride in the morning. But I don't have a specific ritual."

The opposition's form:

Werder Bremen suffered a 3-1 defeat to Fortuna Düsseldorf on the opening day of the season, although they demolished Atlas Delmenhorst 6-1 in the DFB Cup the week before.

Head-to-head record:

Of the previous 22 Bundesliga meetings between the teams, TSG Hoffenheim have only claimed three victories (10 defeats and nine draws). However, the only one of the last seven clashes the Kraichgau club have lost to the Green & Whites came on Matchday 33 last season (1-0).
