Rudy: "It's very bitter"

Here's the reaction from the players and coaches after TSG Hoffenheim lost 1-0 at Eintracht Frankfurt.

Sebastian Rudy: "It was not a bad performance from us. That's why it's very bitter that we weren't alert in the first minute and conceded the goal. We subsequently had a high share of the possession and dominated, but unfortunately we didn't create enough chances. The result is that we're heading home with a defeat."

Robert Skov: "We came here to win. We worked hard for it but in the end we lost. Frankfurt have a good team and they defended well, which is why we didn't have so many chances. I've always dreamt of playing in the Bundesliga. It's a wonderful league and it was unfortunate that my debut didn't end with a triumph."

Kevin Vogt: "It's annoying to start out like that. The performance was really good for long spells. We wanted to play on the front foot and we did so for a long time. But in the end it's the result that counts. It's difficult when you're chasing the game for 90 minutes. We still have a lot of work to do."

Oliver Baumann: "We weren't properly alert for their goal, it wasn't a good start. We take a lot of risks in our game and we do it well, but we need to do more work and give the new lads a bit of time too. Perhaps we still need a while, but generally it was good today despite the defeat."

Alfred Schreuder: "Congratulations to Frankfurt. In the end it's deserved. It wasn't good to fall behind after 36 seconds. We didn't make a good start to the game. It took us another 15 minutes after their goal. Then things got better. Hinteregger cannot be allowed to be so free in front of goal. That's our fault. But I can't reproach the lads at all. We played in the way we'd set out to. We dominated the opposition and played courageously."

Adi Hütter: "It was quite an important victory. We made a strong start to the match. Thereafter, Hoffenheim had more of the game. We should've made it 2-0 earlier on, but I'm obviously very happy."
