Prep starting 6 January, friendlies in Spain

TSG Hoffenheim will kick off their preparations for the second half of the 2018/19 Bundesliga season with a series of internal performance tests on 6 January. The players will return to the training ground in Zuzenhausen a day later, on 7 January, before flying out to Spain for two friendlies three days afterwards.

Following their 1-1 draw with FSV Mainz 05, the TSG Hoffenheim players began their well-deserved Christmas break. "The Christmas break will do us good after the Mainz match, the players have worked very hard and will now have the chance to recover and to get some downtime," said coach Julian Nagelsmann. But it will not be long before the mid-season hiatus is over, with the TSG Hoffenheim players set to take internal performance tests on 6 January. The following day,  on Monday 7 January, they will have their first team training session of the winter break. Three days later, TSG will fly to Spain to play against the Belgian clubs VV St. Truiden (12:00 CET) and RSC Anderlecht (15:00 CET) in Murcia on 11 January. The squad will make the trip home immediately after those two matches.

The TSG headquarters in Zuzenhausen will be closed until then.

Julian Nagelsmann and his team will not travel to a training camp and, aside from their short trip to Spain, will conduct their preparations at the training complex in Zuzenhausen. Hoffenheim's domestic campaign will resume on 18 January (20:30 CET), when they welcome the reigning German champions Bayern Munich to the WIRSOL Rhein-Neckar-Arena.
