Schulz is the ninth to be chosen

Nico Schulz is the ninth player from TSG Hoffenheim to be chosen for the German national team. Our club magazine SPIELFELD and achtzehn99.de have taken a look at past TSG players who have worn the national kit. The first ever Hoffenheimer to represent Germany was on 19 November 2008. #TSG10.

TSG had barely arrived in the Bundesliga, and they were already being represented in the national team. On 19 November 2008, Marvin Compper played his international debut as the first-ever Hoffenheimer to play for the German senior squad's first XI. It was a great honour for the defender and for TSG. The international fixture resulted in a 2-1 defeat against England but despite that, the game which took place in front of 74,244 spectators in Berlin's Olympic Stadium was a milestone for Compper and TSG. Meanwhile, TSG players feature more frequently at international level, with seven further Hoffenheimers to wear the national shirt since Compper's debut. Nico Schulz has been chosen for the international fixture on Thursday in Munich against France (20:45 CET) in the UEFA Nations League and also the "home game" against Peru in Sinsheim (Sunday at 20:45 CET). One thing is for sure, it is set to continue.
