In anticipation of the first competitive match

TSG Hoffenheim play their first competitive match of the new season on Saturday (15:30 CET). TSG are away at German third division side 1. FC Kaiserslautern in the first round of the DFB Cup.

Pre-season is over. The 2018/19 season gets underway for TSG on Saturday. Julian Nagelsmann's team are due to play against 1. FC Kaiserslautern in the first round of the DFB Cup. The manager is full of great anticipation ahead of the match: "Overall, this tight-knit squad has had a very good pre-season. I am really looking forward to this game and the season."

The 31-year-old has warned that the opposition is not to be underestimated despite 1. FC Kaiserslautern's rather disappointing start. "They are a very experienced team and have got quality. We are as prepared for this opponent as we would be for a Bundesliga one."
