Egestorf/Langreder match reaction

All the reaction to TSG’s 6-0 DFB Cup first-round win against 1. FC Germania Egestorf/Langreder.

Julian Nagelsmann: I would like to start by congratulating our opponents on a good game. The atmosphere and organisation here was fantastic. It’s always a thankless task to come somewhere like this as a clear favourite. Everyone is hoping for an upset. But we were concentrated and showed good presence from the start. We created plenty of chances and should have led by more at the break. I wasn’t so pleased with my defence, we conceded two very good chances. We wanted to win the game and we managed that.

Jan Zimmermann: Congratulations to TSG. I told my boys that if we receive compliments afterwards, then we haven’t done well. We haven’t managed to cause an upset. The difference in class was clear to see. In the first half we weren’t brave enough. The second half was much better from us. But Hoffenheim were simply too good.

Mark Uth: For a first competitive match we can be pleased. We actually had a lot of chances to make the scoreline even higher. We need to up the level ahead of next week against RB Leipzig. I didn’t hit the penalty well.
