Süle makes solid U21s debut - Amiri beaten with the U19s

TSG centre back Niklas Süle was called into Germany's U21s squad by coach Horst Hrubesch for the very first time last week. He then made his debut in a friendly with the Netherlands, which marked the start of the DFB-Team's preparations for the European U21 Championship in the Czech Republic next year.

Süle even made the starting XI and put in a solid performance throughout the entire 90 minutes in Germany's commanding 3-1 victory over the Netherlands. The next opportunity for the 19-year-old to showcase his talent will be on Tuesday, when the DFB-Team taken on the Czech Republic in Prague.

Germany's U19 side with Hoffenheim midfielder Nadiem Amiri suffered a 2-0 defeat to Spain in their opening match of an invitational tournament in Greece. Germany manager Marcus Sorg gave Amiri a starting berth in the Katerini Municipal Stadium, but was subbed off at half time for Karlsruher SC's Boubacar Barry.

The tournament serves as preparation for next May's elite round, which will also take place in Greece. Next up for Germany is a meeting with hosts Greece on Saturday (14:00 CET), before they take on France on Monday (14:00 CET).
