Bad day at the office:
TSG comfortably beaten
by leaders Bayern

TSG 1899 Hoffenheim suffered their third defeat in a row as they went down 4-0 at the home of reigning Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich. Two goals in either half for Bayern saw them run out comfortable winners at the Allianz Arena. Hoffenheim had a couple of chances but weren't able to really get into the game, and their day ended on an especially sour note after Adam Szalai was sent off just before the final whistle. The result sees Bayern extend their lead at the top of the table, with TSG dropping out of the European places.

Tactics and line-up:

Manager Markus Gisdol made two changes to the side that started last time out against 1. FC Köln before the international break. The injured Eugen Polanski (thigh) was replaced by Germany international Sebastian Rudy in holding midfield, whilst Anthony Modeste started up front, with Adam Szalai dropping to a bench which also included the returning Jin-Su Kim.

TSG didn't spring any tactical surprises at the home of the German record holders as they retained their usual 4-2-3-1 formation, with Roberto Firmino pulling the strings in midfield as usual just off frontman Modeste. In the second half, manager Gisdol threw on two strikers in the form of Schipplock and Szalai, which altered the formation a touch, as TSG pushed to try and get back into the game.

90th minute: RED CARD! Right on the final whistle, substitute Adam Szalai is given his marching orders after diving in on Dante.

Moment of the match:

Oliver Baumann had a good game against the league leaders. He saved well on his line and commanded his area as usual. He couldn't do anything about the goals, but in the 16th minute, he made an unbelievable save to deny Thomas Müller. He threw himself in front of the ball and turned the ball round the post.
