Heurelho Gomes to leave TSG – Usami returns to Osaka

Heurelho Gomes is leaving TSG, as expected, after his six-month loan contract comes to an end on June 30th 2013.

Gomes was loaned from Tottenham Hotspur in January and up until April, he managed nine Bundesliga games for the Kraichgau side. In the match against Düsseldorf, the 32-year-old broke his metacarpus and was replaced by Koen Casteels.”¨”¨

Alexander Rosen, head of professional football: “We want to thank Heurelho Gomes for everything he has done. He played a massive part in our survival and not just because of his impeccable performances in goal. Off the field he was a valuable part of the club and provided support for the younger players in the team.” Manager Markus Gisdol also thanked the Brazilian: “Gomes has a strong personality and is a sensational goalkeeper. He is someone our goalkeeper, Koen Casteels, has profited a great deal from. We wish him all the best for his future. He is always welcome at Hoffenheim.”

Usami returns home

The same could be said for Takashi Usami (20) as he will return home to J-League side Gamba Osaka when the attacking midfielder's loan spell comes to an end on June 30th.
