Celebrations in the Rhein-Neckar-Arena and the Dietmar-Hopp-Stadion
Around 1,500 fans made their way to the WIRSOL Rhein-Neckar-Arena on Saturday afternoon to follow TSG's match against Dortmund on the big screen. Fans were invited by the club to the stadium to watch the extraordinary game play out. Just like the 3,600 spectators that travelled to Dortmund, they experienced an emotional rollercoaster – with a happy ending.
“The atmosphere in the Arena was amazing. The fans experienced an unbelievable afternoon thanks to some crazy final minutes and the win that came afterwards,” said TSG stadium announcer Mike Diehl. He was with the fans in the stadium and was rooting for Gisdol's men. There were also celebrations in the Dietmar-Hopp-Stadion where the U23s were playing at the same time as the match in the Signal Iduna Park, but still caught wind of what was happening in Dortmund.
An unbelievable afternoon for the club and its fans – regardless of whether they were in Dortmund, the WIRSOL Rhein-Neckar-Arena, the Dietmar-Hopp-Stadion or at home in front of their TV.
