10-1 friendly match victory against FV Wiesental

Approximately 2,000 spectators witnessed TSG 1899 Hoffenheim cruise to a 10-1 friendly match victory against FV Wiesental on Wednesday evening. On target against the fourth league side were: Filip Malbasic, Ryan Babel , Kevin Volland (2), Joseph-Claude Gyau , Sven Schipplock (3) and Michael Gregoritsch.

Skipper Sebastian Rudy opened the scoring after ten minutes, when his freekick from the left hand side found the back of the net. Eren Derdiyok, who like Matthieu Delpierre celebrated his debut for Hoffenheim in this game, had his first chance a few minutes later. He joined the rest of the squad only at the start of the week, but already came close to his premier goal with a shot against the post in the 16th minute.

Derdiyok assisted the next goal however, as Malbasic was on target in the 20th minute to double Hoffenheim's lead. A big surprise followed, as Robin Marton grabbed one back for Wiesental in the 24th minute – much to the delight of the home crowd.

This did not slow down TSG's search for further goals however. Ryan Babel's deflected strike put Hoffenheim back in front with a two goal advantage (29'). Kevin Volland scored a brace before the interval (33' and 41') to give Hoffenheim a 5-1 lead at half time.

Coach Markus Babbel made plenty of changes at half time, including bringing on keeper Koen Casteels, who did not replace Jens Grahl however. Instead, he found himself playing centre back alongside fellow substitute Vestergaard.

Ahmed Sassi set up Joseph-Claude Gyau in the 52nd minute for the 6-1 and Sven Schipplock scored his first of the day twelve minutes later. Schipplock didn't take long to add a second in the 75th minute, taking his tally up to 7 goals in this pre-season. He wasn't finished for the day however, as he marked the 9-1 for Hoffenheim in the 83rd minute after a superb interplay between Ryan Babel and Edson Braafheid.

Michael Gregoritsch rounded off the scoring with five minutes left to play and thus Hoffenheim comfortably cruised to a 10-1 victory against Wiesental.
