Volland to stay at 1860 until next summer

TSG 1899 Hoffenheim and TSV 1860 München have today agreed that striker Kevin Volland will remain with the Lions until the end of the current season, after which he will return to Hoffenheim to play for his parent club. Representatives from both clubs were of the opinion that remaining in Munich would be good for the player's development.

1899 General Manager Ernst Tanner issued a statement in which he spelled out his satisfaction with the agreement. “From our point of view, we're pleased to allow Kevin to stay at 1860 until the end of the season. He is developing well there, and we would like for his development to continue. We're convinced this will benefit all parties and we look forward to his return next summer.”

Robert Schäfer, TSV's Managing Director, also outlined his pleasure at the decision. “Both clubs are happy with the deal, as is Kevin himself, which is extremely important. I'm grateful to Ernst Tanner. It's been very constructive working with him. We hope Kevin will continue to help the club for the remainder of this season.”

Volland was signed by 1899 Hoffenheim in the summer from 1860 München, but immediately loaned back to the Bavarian side for the first half of this season. His contract with the Lions will now run until June 30th 2012.
